Metering Pump Selection Guide

A metering pump (also called a dosing pump or chemical injection pump) is a positive-displacement pump designed to deliver a precise, adjustable flow rate of liquid chemicals into a process stream. TL Environment supplies three drive technologies to match different process requirements:

  • Solenoid Diaphragm Metering Pumps — Ideal for low-to-medium flow rates (up to 60 L/h) and pressures up to 16 bar. Widely used in swimming pool chlorination, drinking water disinfection, and small-scale industrial dosing. Models: H, H+, HS, HH series.
  • Mechanical Diaphragm Metering Pumps — Suited for continuous duty at medium flow rates (up to 1,200 L/h) and pressures up to 10 bar. Common in wastewater treatment, cooling water chemical dosing, and agricultural irrigation. Models: HJ-W, HJ-L, HJ-Z series.
  • Hydraulic Diaphragm Metering Pumps — Designed for high-pressure applications (up to 100 bar) in petrochemical injection, boiler feed chemical dosing, and offshore platform chemical treatment. Models: HY-X, HY-D series.
