Request a QuoteProduct Overview
The TL-TUR Series measures water turbidity using the 90° scattered light (nephelometric) method in accordance with ISO 7027. Wide measuring range covers drinking water, surface water, and industrial effluent applications. Anti-fouling wiper option available.
Working Principle
Optical sensors use light-based measurement principles that eliminate the need for consumable reagents or electrolytes. Fluorescence optical DO sensors excite a luminophore coating with blue LED light; the returned red fluorescence signal is inversely proportional to dissolved oxygen concentration. Turbidity sensors transmit near-infrared light through the sample and measure the scattered light at 90°; the scatter intensity is proportional to suspended solids concentration. These principles provide stable, drift-free measurements with minimal maintenance requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
What measurement principle does this turbidity sensor use?+
The TL-TUR Series uses 90° scatter infrared optical measurement (ISO 7027 compliant), providing stable readings that are not affected by ambient light or sample colour.
What is the measurement range?+
0–4000 NTU (standard range). High-range versions up to 10,000 NTU are available for wastewater and sludge applications.
Can this sensor measure TSS (total suspended solids)?+
Yes. The TL-TUR Series can be configured for TSS measurement in mg/L, with calibration curves for specific sludge types. Contact us for TSS-specific calibration.
What is the IP rating and installation method?+
IP68 protection rating. Suitable for submersion, flow-through, and insertion installation. The anti-fouling wiper option is recommended for continuous wastewater monitoring.
Is this sensor suitable for filter effluent monitoring?+
Yes. Turbidity monitoring of filter effluent is one of the primary applications. The sensor provides early warning of filter breakthrough and supports regulatory compliance reporting.
